Rethinking how industry is powered.

The world has made remarkable progress in generating affordable clean electricity. Yet much of heavy industry still relies on coal and gas for something far more fundamental: heat.

For factories, mines and processing plants operating around the clock, the challenge isn’t simply reducing emissions. It’s finding an alternative that can deliver the same temperatures, reliability and economics as fossil fuels, without disrupting production.

We founded Aed Energy to address that challenge.

Bringing together decades of experience in global energy infrastructure, advanced materials and thermal engineering, our founders set out to develop a fundamentally different approach to energy storage.

The idea was deceptively simple: what if we could use some of the world’s most abundant, inexpensive materials to store electricity as high-temperature heat, then deliver that energy whenever industry needs it?

That thinking became the foundation of Aed Energy.

Using a proprietary composite built around common salt, we’ve developed a new class of modular thermal batteries designed to deliver industrial heat up to 800°C. Our approach combines advanced materials science with established industrial components, creating a pathway to large-scale deployment without dependence on expensive materials or complex manufacturing infrastructure.

From concept to industrial deployment.

Since our founding in 2022, we’ve progressed from laboratory development to successful 800°C testing and field deployment in Nigeria, and we are now developing a UKRI-backed 10 MWh industrial pilot at a platinum mining operation in South Africa.

Our technology is now progressing towards commercial-scale deployment, with applications spanning mining, metals, manufacturing and other energy-intensive industries.

And while industrial heat is our immediate focus, our technology platform extends to long-duration electricity storage and combined heat and power.
